In January 2023, I was given, or rather I sought out, the opportunity to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.
Why would you fly halfway across the world to climb Tanzania..
I wanted to share just few of those lessons from the mountain with you as I feel it's my responsibility after such impactful journey to share my learnings with other leaders.
I was fearful at many points in this process, including when I booked the trip, the weeks before when everyone wanted to talk about it and share their own fears with me and while I was on the mountain.
I believe the fear is there to test your commitment, then it's easier to move through fear when you feel it.
I realized in the weeks leading up to the trip that I was carrying lot of stress and I knew that stress and worry were not going to help me get to the top of the mountain.
I started to think about my worry as extra things I had to add to my bag and carry up the mountain.
He said, This is going to be hard, there's no way around it or to make it easier, except you have to be focused on getting through the pain for the pride it will produce...
This was the in my life that I knew, no matter what, that I was going to do the hard thing.
Eventually, each of those one more steps turns into the summit of mountain and the achievement of lifelong goal.
