Turn on hazards, place reflective triangles or cones and open the hood to signify the vehicle is broken down.
Try to access the issue and determine whether it can be repaired or if there is need to call for assistance.
Try to stay in the vehicle while waiting for assistance and if not possible stay on opposite side of the roadway and as far back as possible do not stand behind the vehicle.
Report the issue to manager with approximate location.
When possible pull off on exit ramps for more room and less traffic If possible to make it to the next rest stop do so...
