Most heat pumps energize this coil to move valve to align the heat pump for cooling operation, few heat pumps deenergize this coil to align the heat pump for cooling operations.
IF you're comfortable taking the power off your heat pump and removing the fan off the top of the unit you can remove the coil and install this magnet.
You know you've got the orientation correct when you hear the valve click as you slide the magnet onto the valve.
If you do not hear click reverse the magnet and try again.
replacing the valve, and recharging the heat pump - that's beyond my skill set.
But we've had AC from our heat pump for week now using this magnet as I wait for new reversing coil.
