Air conditioners, for the most part, are simple machines.
There are lot of pieces that go into making them work, and the mechanics of it are simple.
Power is supplied to the condenser which begins the air conditioning cycle.
Inside the condenser, the refrigerant is condensed and pressurized, which causes it to become cold and increases the pressure..
The high pressured refrigerant is sent through the copper tubing to the evaporator.
The evaporator draws warm air into the system and blows it over the cold coils where the coolant is cycling through.
This process causes the air to become chilled while heating and expanding the refrigerant..
Once the refrigerant has low pressure and temperature, it's sent back to the compressor to start the cycle all over again.
The result is air that is cooler than the ambient air of the blown around to keep the rooms at more comfortable temperature...
