I just installed this gear into one of my motor actuators in the rear c heat about 20 minutes ago.
I replaced actuator last weekend for almost $40, and when I went to test it, it worked fine and I found out the actuator for the overhead air flow lower air flow was clicking and not working.
When I bought my first I took it apart and found the gear teeth broken.
But I did not know or think about just being able to replace the gear.
So after replacing the actuator and almost ordering the other broken I found that I could just order this gear for about 3 the price of actuator.
Of course, I ca not tell you how long this will last, only that it's working now.
The original lasted about 15 years and for the past few years I was just too lazy to replace anything and so I did not even use rear heat or c..
Ford designed the gear with no thought at all.
This broken gear appears to happen to many, many ford actuators across many models and years.
