McQuay International is a global corporation that designs, manufacturers and sells heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) products, systems, parts and services for commercial buildings. Since 2006, McQuay has been a subsidiary of Daikin Industries, Ltd.
McQuay was incorporated in 1933 with manufacturing and headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Initial success was built on the first classroom unit ventilator and the first hermetic compressor for air conditioning use.
In the summer of 2012 Daikin McQuay launched the commercial rooftop product brand named Rebel. The Rebel product incorporated the core competency of both companies; the advanced variable refrigerant flow compressors and cost-effective rooftop products both mark-up air and 100% OA. The Rebel product is the first to win the DOE (Department of Energy) Rooftop Challenge. With in the 3-15 ton product range Daikin McQuay realizes a 20.6 IEER.
Their industry leading IEER values were achieved using both variable speed compressor technology, heat exchanger design, and patented refrigerant flow controls.
